Blastocyst Culture

Blastocyst Culture

In vitro fertilization (IVF) Blastocyst culture and transfer is a process. This process intends to maximize pregnancy rates while minimizing the risk of multiple pregnancies. typically, Embryos are cultured for 3 days (cleavage stage with 4-10 cells) before being transferred into the uterus. It is a process in which an embryo is developed in the laboratory for 4-6 days after fertilisation before being placed in womb. It gains many cells as a result of being developed for so many days and these embryos developed for 4-6 days are much more advanced than the ones developed for just three days. Those Embryos are called blastocysts

Once the embryos survive for specified given days they are more likely to produce the fruitful results and it enables embryologists to select from the more advanced embryos with better potential for implantation.

The special advantage of Blastocyst Culture and Transfer method is that it significantly reduces the risk of multiple pregnancies. In this the pregnancy and implantation success rate is higher in this technique because it is easy to confirm and proceed the robust embryos after developing for 4-6 days hence only the competent embryo are transferred to uterus.
